Tandym Group is Hiring a Behavioral Health Nurse (RN) Near Old Bethpage, NY
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Outpatient Day program
- Schedule Monday to Friday (earlier start on Thursdays)
- Hours: 9am to 3pm (8:30 am to 3:30pm on Thursdays)
The Behavioral Health Nurse (RN) will:
- Carry out all nursing duties related to the individuals' plan of care
- Administer injectable medications to assigned individuals and ensure medication is given as ordered and documented accurately
- Monitor prescriptions provided to patients, review appropriate lab values, and adjust medications
- Complete all nursing assessments and associated documentation per agency policy
- Review, modify, and update the consumer's health plan and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate and track all medical appointments, illnesses, medications and medication changes, and vitals
- Maintain charts required by the individuals' action plan
- Meet regularly with the Psychiatrist and Nurse Practitioner to coordinate care
- Perform other duties, as needed
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience working in a Behavioral Health role/setting
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
